Description
Sticky, creamy, and a little bit crunchy, this Apple Toffee Dip combines tangy cream cheese, buttery toffee bits, and crisp apples for a crowd-pleasing sweet snack. Perfect for parties, potlucks, or cozy nights in, it comes together in minutes and is endlessly customizable.
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup toffee bits (such as Heath English Toffee Bits)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of sea salt
- 4–6 medium apples, sliced for dipping
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, for tossing apple slices)
Instructions
- Remove cream cheese from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 30-45 minutes, or microwave in 10-second bursts until soft but not melted.
- In a medium mixing bowl, add softened cream cheese, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat with a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until fully combined and light. Scrape down the sides of the bowl halfway through.
- Add vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt. Beat again for 10 seconds to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or add cinnamon if desired.
- Gently fold in toffee bits with a spatula until evenly distributed. Do not use the mixer for this step.
- Wash and dry apples. Slice into wedges about 1/2 inch thick. If serving later, toss apple slices with lemon juice to prevent browning and drain excess juice before serving.
- Spoon dip into a serving bowl. Arrange apple slices around the dip or on a separate platter. Optionally, sprinkle extra toffee bits or chopped nuts on top.
Notes
For best texture, use room temperature cream cheese and fold in toffee bits by hand. Tart apples like Granny Smith balance the sweetness. Dip can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 2 days. For gluten-free, check toffee bits packaging and serve with gluten-free dippers. Add cinnamon or chopped nuts for extra flavor. If dip is too thick, stir in 1-2 tbsp milk. If too runny, chill for 30 minutes.
