Description
This pan-fried halloumi recipe features crispy, golden edges drizzled with honey and sprinkled with fresh thyme, creating a delightful balance of savory and sweet flavors. Perfect for impressing guests or enjoying as a quick snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 250g Halloumi cheese, sliced into 1 cm thick pieces
- 2 tablespoons honey, preferably raw
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, leaves stripped from the stems
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Start by slicing the halloumi into 1 cm thick pieces. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Place your non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Let it heat up until it shimmers.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully add the halloumi slices to the pan. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown.
- When the halloumi is beautifully golden, drizzle the honey over the cheese. Sprinkle the fresh thyme leaves on top and allow them to briefly sizzle for about 30 seconds.
- Add a pinch of freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
- Using a spatula, transfer the pan-fried halloumi to a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining honey and thyme from the pan over the top.
- Enjoy while hot! This dish is best served fresh.
Notes
For best results, ensure the skillet is hot enough before adding the halloumi to achieve a crispy texture.
