  • Author: Emily Rhodes
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 servings 1x

Description

These salmon patties are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, paired with a creamy lemon garlic sauce that makes them a family favorite. Quick and easy to prepare, they are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (6 oz each) of salmon, drained and flaked (or 1 lb fresh salmon, cooked and flaked)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or panko)
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, mayonnaise, beaten egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.
  2. Form the salmon mixture into patties, about 3 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the pan, making sure not to overcrowd it.
  4. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Once cooked, transfer the patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil while you prepare the sauce.
  6. For the creamy lemon garlic sauce, combine the sour cream, lemon juice, minced garlic, lemon zest, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and well mixed.
  7. Serve the salmon patties hot, drizzled with the creamy lemon garlic sauce.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. You can also make the patties ahead of time and refrigerate them for up to an hour before cooking.
