Description
These salmon patties are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, paired with a creamy lemon garlic sauce that makes them a family favorite. Quick and easy to prepare, they are perfect for any occasion.

- 2 cans (6 oz each) of salmon, drained and flaked (or 1 lb fresh salmon, cooked and flaked)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or panko)
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, mayonnaise, beaten egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.
- Form the salmon mixture into patties, about 3 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the pan, making sure not to overcrowd it.
- Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, transfer the patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil while you prepare the sauce.
- For the creamy lemon garlic sauce, combine the sour cream, lemon juice, minced garlic, lemon zest, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and well mixed.
- Serve the salmon patties hot, drizzled with the creamy lemon garlic sauce.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. You can also make the patties ahead of time and refrigerate them for up to an hour before cooking.
